Changement de programme

Voici un aperçu du spectacle que nous avons tous les soirs sur le bateau... Pas mal non ?

Nous sommes toujours dans le petit village de Saqqaq, nous n’avons pas pu aller jusqu’à Upernavik, trop de glace. Ici, nous sommes adoptés  par la population et en particulier par les enfants et les pêcheurs qui sont toujours prêts à proposer leur aide.

Après de longues réflexions et discussions avec ces pêcheurs justement, il est préférable de ne pas aller aussi nord que je pensais. En effet, avec ces problèmes de moteur j’ai perdu beaucoup de temps et la saison hivernale est trop avancée maintenant. Les dépressions s'enchaînent, les journées raccourcissent très vite, la météo est peu fiable et la banquise commence déjà à se former. Dans ces conditions, les risques seraient disproportionnés et pourraient aboutir à un arrêt brutal de l’expédition, ce que nous ne voulons pas envisager!!

Je cherche donc au Nord de la baie de Disko, le fjord qui nous abritera Monique et moi pour tout l’hiver arctique, 5 à 6 mois à priori.

Donc nous allons dans quelques jours couper toute communication avec vous… comme prévu, je n’aurais plus aucun moyen de contact extérieur, pas de réseau sur le téléphone et plus aucune unité sur le téléphone satellite , pour ne pas être tenté non plus.

Here is an overview of the show we have every night on the boat ... Not bad, isn't it?

We are still in the small village of Saqqaq where adopted by the population and in particular by the kids and the fishermen who are always ready to offer their help.

After long reflections and discussions with these fishermen, it is better not to go as far north as I thought. Indeed, with these engine problems I lost a lot of time and the winter season is too advanced now. Depressions are linked together, the days are getting shorter very quickly, the weather is unreliable and the pack ice is already starting to form. In these conditions, the risks would be disproportionate and could lead to a sudden stop of the adventure, which we do not want to consider !!

So I'm looking north of Disco Bay, the fjord that will house Monique and I for the entire Arctic winter, 5 to 6 months normally.

So in a few days we are going to cut off all communication with you ... as planned, I would no longer have any outside contact, no network on the phone and no more units on the satellite phone, so as not to be tempted either.
