Revenons-en à la course justement !
Guirec et Lucie ont été à pied d’oeuvre cette nuit pour récupérer de la tension au niveau de la sous-barbe (le câble textile qui maintient le bout-dehors vers le bas de l’étrave). Comme les réparations sont toutes fraîches, la sous-barbe met du temps à trouver sa rigidité et c’est pourquoi ces dernières heures, Guirec et Lucie ont perdu de précieuses places au classement et sont à l’heure qu’il est 22èmes.
Jusqu’ici ils naviguaient au près et avaient assuré une première partie de course au top !
À présent la flotte des IMOCAs se retrouve au portant et dans ces conditions, les foilers sont avantagés et rattrapent leur retard. Donc si on rajoute à cela les précautions de ne pas trop tirer sur le bout-dehors, on perd forcément un peu de terrain !
Mais Guirec et Lucie ne mollissent pas pour autant, et comptent bien franchir la ligne d’arrivée à Cherbourg demain en tout début d’après-midi !

Back to racing! Guirec and Lucie were hard at work overnight to recover from the tension in the bobstay (the textile cable that holds the bowsprit to the bottom of the bow). As the repairs are all fresh, the bobstay works before finding its rigidity and this is why in recent hours, Guirec and Lucie have lost precious places in the standings.
So far they were sailing upwind, but now that they need their downwind sails, they are being very precautious because it’s pulling on the bowsprit.
Adding the fact that foilers are now flying on their favorite pace, that explains that our duo are now 22nd on rankings.
They will fight to the end and should pass the finish line early afternoon tomorrow in Cherbourg !
